Maintenance Notification for 11th November, 2010

Description:
Outage of BR1 (br1.heron.bytel.net.uk/80.76.200.189) to perform processor and software upgrade.
 
When:
Starting 22:00 on Thursday 11th November, 2010.
 
Duration:
Approx 1 hour.
 
Procedure:
All BGP peering sessions will be shut down and left for 10 minutes for residual traffic to transfer to BR0. The router will then be shut down, upgraded with the new processor and software (approx 10-15 mins), and then brought back online still in a 'peering shutdown' state. The router will be tested (approx 15-20 mins), and then brought back into service by re-enabling peering sessions.
 
Impact Expected:
Negligible. All customers with BGP sessions should have two sessions configured to both BR0 and BR1.
